So here I am. This year is flying by. I've been wretchedly home sick. Wanting to be home. To coach wrestling, see my friends and family more often and enjoy the comforts of Canada. But like any sickness be it heart break or leg break, it always fades or heals with time. And so I have moved onwards. After all I've got some seriously exciting times ahead. For instance Tony will be here soon. He's moving to Riyadh with his family. You can bet 100 pencils and 60 erasers that I'll be on a plane more often than not to see him on weekends. The CEO gave me a heads up on a new video game called Skyrim that the guys are playing. He told me it'll help me get through my time here. He was right. I downloaded the game on Friday last week and here's how it's been going:
Exercise- F$%k it.
Staying late at work to be a professional and keep on top of the work load- not really.
Food- order in.
Skyrim- all the time
We are gamers my friends and I. I always have been and always will be. A neat thought exercise is to imagine gaming in 10 years...20 years. The email threads going round make me feel like I'm there with the guys as we share the various adventures we are having in the virtual world.
In the theme of excitement I have been actively searching for a job (when I'm not playing games). I was supposed to have a skype interview yesterday but I did not hear from the head at the American School of Romania in Bucharest. I sat at my computer dressed in a shirt and tie, khaki pants and barefeet. The questions I will ask of my future employer were opened and neatly tucked to the left of my screen (A tip I got from James). I waited for an hour while I was itching to play Skyrim and had no contact. After some investigation I found that I was sending the emails meant for her to myself....ooops.
I've been firing off emails to various schools around the globe. Japan, Peru, Indo, Morocco, Russia, San Fran all potential placements. I've found a psychology teacher position in Peru and a Special Education teacher position in San Fran. There are tons of elementary positions as well. January will come soon enough. I'll get on a plane, fly to London, stay in an over priced hotel and see what job the universe is going to give me. My Head gave me a trophy in a staff meeting last week. He said I get the award of being a Risk Taker as I will leave stability and go out into the world and see where the wind will take me. He couldn't have been more true.
I'll load my Bangladesh pictures in this post.
