Our Sahara trip was a blast!! The first day in the Sahara Desert, we stayed in Zagora, an old trading town on an oasis. We had a little cottage that was nice. After that we drove to M'hamid to start our camel trek. We had to take a 4 x4 for about two and a half hours to get to our camp and it was really bumpy. We stayed in the tented camp for one night and the next morning we went on the dromadaries. They were uncomfortable!!!!!!
Dromadory are an animal like a camel but only have one hump. The difference between a dromadarie and a camel is that, dromadory live in deserts and camels live in colder climates. The guides would strap the legs of the dromadory together so they wouldn’t wander too far.
We camped out in the middle of nowhere with just our family and our two guides, Haleed and Brahim. It was super hot in the day, but at night it was so chilly that we had to wear our down jackets.
Then we went to Sahara Sky which is a hotel that has telescopes on their rooftop so you can see the stars. Sahara Sky has the most expensive telescope in Morocco. We learned about some new constellations, saw baby stars, a couple Nebulas and some other moons.

Very interesting ...I did not know the difference between a camel and a dromedary. Did you see any other people on the trip? Are there villages out in the desert at all or roads? How did the guides know where they were going?
I'm curious. What language do those nomads speak? Obviously you could communicate. What about the astonomer? Are you speaking French or English? Sounds so neat! Love you.
