until moving to finland, i had never heard of this particular art form, but oh how beautiful it is! perfectly suited to the cold dark winters of finland.

the basic idea is that large sculptures and figures are created out of various flammable materials such as wood, rope, fabric, and even metals that flame in a rainbow of colours. then, to the beat of drums, the sculptures are ignited with torches, and well, you can see the spectacular results!
