arrived in hamburg yesterday, which was far more of a mission than it should have been (at least i didn't get on a train that was going in entirely the wrong direction...). i am staying with my half brother pekka and his partner verana, and today the three of us went to a beach town about 60km north, on the baltic sea. the sand was AMAZING, so white and as fine as flour, i was really shocked! the weather has been phenomenal ever since i arrived in europe, mid to high 20's every day, and today i finally got to make the most of it, lying in the sun (even getting a last little bit more of a tan!) and swimming in the ocean. it was totally unexpected and much needed, i realized i hadn't swum in saltwater for 2 years!
so, not quite snow ;) but i will get my share soon enough, this will certainly be the last of my summer, as i head north north north in a few days...
