saturday was the best going away party i could have imagined, except it wasn't actually my going away party at all. which meant, far less saddness and no organizing on my part, which just made it all the better.

the first part of the night was spent with my "dinner club" friends, and started with aperatifs at steph's gorgeous new loft before moving on to very yummy garlicy cuisine at "that's aroma", edmonton's all-garlic restaurant (we even had garlic ice cream, and it wasn't as bad as you'd expect, surprising since it did taste pretty much exactly how you'd think). i then managed to coax some of the more adventurous out to the gomp stomp night, where i was again amazed at how many amazing awesome people i have met over the summer. it made me so happy to realize how accepted into this new group of friends i have been, and it seems that i really will be missed (altough as i keep saying, 4 months goes so fast no one will hardly notice!). it makes me extra happy that i am planning to come home at christmas for the winter, because a lot of the connections i made this summer still feel so new, and i look forward to getting to know people better this winter :). and some of my fav edmonton dj's were in the line up, adding to the whole "my party but no one realized it but me" feel. wicked send off, and this time no one was pepper sprayed, even better ;)

so, for all its surprises, drama, etc etc, the summer definitely will be remembered really positively for me, although i think that someday i will write a book about it, seriously! (she smiles slyly to those of you who may be a little disturbed by the prospect? :D

thank you to everyone who made this summer what it was, you are all so beautiful and i will really miss you all. i love you!!! and i'll see you soon...
