Before I went to the airport on my last day, I took a side trip to Newark, New Jersey. This had a two-fold reason. 1) The Newark Public Library would be the most likely place to research my Grandpa and Grandma Nucciarone. 2) One of the reference librarians assisted me with the research for my book -- regarding the Newark Overland Company of 1849. As a result, I found exactly what I was looking for about my grandparents and I talked to the librarian who helped me with my book, and he decided to order my book for the library! As a bonus to the visit, I walked right by the street where my grandparents once lived (as well as my dad). Though the house is no longer there, it felt neat to see the area where my father grew up. East Orange, New Jersey is about ten minutes from the library, and I've never been to the area where my father grew up until now. The library was built in 1903. The front of the library is being worked on, so I didn't take a picture of it. Yet, I am quite sure that my father and his siblings and my grandparents have likely been inside this library a number of times in the early to mid-1900s.
All in all, I packed so much into a week's worth of time. I enjoyed it all.
