After arriving back in the Pacific Northwest at 6:30 this morning from Hawaii, I couldn't miss a different kind of celebration. Today was the final leg of a three-year tenure process. We officially became tenured last March, but today (May 19th) was the Tenure Reception. "We" equals Maritza Baida, Mike Childers, and Monica Nucciarone (me!). Chancellor Michele Johnson spoke a few words with our college president Denise Yochum looking on. Our new classification comes with a new title, Associate Professor, though our job title in Student Development is Faculty Counselor Advisor.
