I took it nice and easy yeasterday.  After posting the blog I went down to Strand Road where lots of the old British Colonial buildings are.  The buildings are really big and grand but most of them are falling into disrepair.   I went to have a look inside the Strand hotel which was incredibaly nice and it had a small art gallery inside, so I had a bit of a wander around.  It was odd, kind of like a movie set because the lobby and some of the corridoors were immaculate but as I wandered furhter in the corridoors became derelict and they smelt of public toilets.  The place was huge but its hard to imagin that many people go there.  Maybe they only have a few rooms that are actually furnished.
After leaving there I found the British Council next door.  Its got loads of recent news papers there and it has the BBC world new playing on a tv, I think il go there now to take it easy and watch some of the election news.  From what I've heard so far it sounds pretty interesting.
The money here is funny, its like old pirate money.  The exchnage rate is around 1000 kyat to the dollar depending on where I exchange money.  The official government exchange rate is 60 ky to the dollar, which would have made my meal last night over $100.  I think they like to over value themselves.  Because of the government rate people are advised to exchange money on the 'black markety', by that it just means from shops and hotels.  but i do feel super cool saying that I'm getting my money from the Black market, hehe.
I'll be leaving Yangon early tomorrow morning so we'll see how good the internet is outside the capital.
Until next time xxxxxxx
