After another huge journey which was longer than expected we have made it to a very hot Chang Mai. We thought we deserved a massage after our long journey so we got a back, shoulder and neck one. we almost fell asleep it was so relaxing!
Back in Bangkok we spent a week in the Marriott living it large. We went to Kho San Road and saw bullet hole in Democracy Monument. Climbed the Golden Mountain to see a beautiful Wat or temple. Visited the huge outdoor market, twice! We spent a hot day wandering through the ground of the Grand Palace and in the various museums there. Also saw the ... Mansion (we can't remember the name!) and had to buy a couple of sarongs to cover our sexy legs. Bangkok was fun with questionable nightlife! We were stopped by red shirts twice, who searched our taxi. But on the whole we avoided the trouble. We happened to walk through the danger zone the night before people were killed and it was very surreal. You could sense that it was going to kick off soon. Thousands of reds on one side and less locals on the other all jeering across a road lined with sharpened bamboo and tyres. Add in the army and police and you can imagine how mad it looked to us!
Anyway in Chang Mai now and planning on doing a trek starting tomorrow and lasting a few days before heading back to the capitol to fly out. We are enjoying the atmosphere here which is a relaxed change from the constant shouts of 'tuk tuk!' in Bangkok.

Chang Mai is great. Have you tried thai tea yet?! I had a massage in Chang and it was the most painful thing ever! xxx
