We left around 11 to make the 45 minute trip into Asheville (on scenic hwy 63). We went straight to a litte pizza/brewery - the same one I went to last time.

We we had pizza and some north carolina brews we called around and tried to find a place to stay for the night. We decided on A Bed of Roses - mostly because noone else had availability but it was within walking distance to downtown.

After the pizza we went and checked in. This was our first B&B and we felt very old and Jefferson tourist like. It was a few blocks away from downtown in this little historic neighborhood.
There were so many people walking around town. It was crazy. There were street performers on every corner. Two chicks tap dancing, a bluegrass band, a drummer + harmonica dude - it was fun. Here are links to some of the places we went (We didn't take many pictures on this trip)

We were sure we'd be the youngest people staying at the B&B but at breakfast the next morning we were the 2nd oldest couple (out of 4). So we were seated at 9 - 8 of us - and served breakfast. Baked grapefruit, broccoli cornbread, sausage, and some quiche thing. It was really good.
The oldest guy at the table ran the show making everybody talk to each other. We were a bit nervous about our breakfast together but it ended up being kind of fun.
We left Asheville around 10 and had a mom and dad trip back home. We went south and hooked up with the Blue Ridge Parkway and followed it to the national park. We stopped at tons of overlooks, creeks, etc so the drive took us a while. We also stopped in Knoxville and drove around campus and ate lunch downtown.

We finally made it home 10 hours later.
It was a good trip. We want to go back and make it an outdoors trip. Tons of hiking and camping(national park, and 2 national forests), 4 rivers to kayak, horseback riding, etc
