Hey,

Sorry about all the misspelled words in our last entry. The combination of a slightly shifted keyboard and no spell check will do that. Our first day in Prague was better than I could have imagined. We walked around the downtown area for most of the day and saw basically everything we had planned on. Prague Castle, Old Town, The Square, Jewish Cemetery, the Dancing House, Charles Bridge and even more. I could take a thousand pictures and spend countless days here but I’m glad we saw so much in one since we don’t have much time. Me and Monica are going to have legs of steel by the end of this trip I can already tell. We probably walked about nine miles throughout the day although we did stop a lot for water and coffee at outdoor cafes.

Today we went to Karstejn Castle. It was about forty minutes by train away from Prague and absolutely breathtaking. The castle we saw today belonged to Charles IV who ruled the Holy Roman Empire. He's also what the famous Charles Bridge was named after. It was such a cool feeling to actually stand in a former king’s bedroom! Oh another thing you might find interesting is that with the crown jewels was a crocodile’s skull that was supposed to be a dragon slain by another king!

Tomorrow we are going to the Jewish Quarter and then leaving for Venice at five. We plan on getting there around 9 a.m. We booked an overnight bed on the train so hopefully we will be rested.

We’ll talk to you soon.

Natalie and Monica
