Kia Ora!
Arrived one week ago in Auckland and doing well. Staying at the Base Backpackers for now while searching for an apartment. I have visited a few places and have more lined up for this evening and tomorrow.
I have met some good girls from Italy and from England. Both are here for as long as I am so we have been hanging out in the evenings and exploring the city. We met some Aussie rugby league players while out the other night which was great eye candy but nothing else - they "forgot" their wallets so they couldnt buy us any drinks and they couldnt really see past their own reflection in the mirror. good laughs though when the Italian did her best impression of the aussie accent.
I am tired of staying in the hostel and spend HOURS everyday on the free internet in the library or at the cinemas, researching accomodation.
I have one casual job lined up for during the Rugby World Cup. I am also being considered for a more full time position with another organization that I will tell you more about if I get the job.... cross your fingers.
today I went on a city tour of Auckland which was pretty good considering it was free. I took a few photos of Monita so hope to get them posted up on the book of face soon. we spent almost an hour and a half up on the auckland bridge in the FREEZING gale force winds while watching fellow backpackers bungee jump. i had no desire to this time. I will save that for the warmer weather....maybe.
I am tired of being around backpackers and looking forward to settling into a normal routine with people my age! today's lunch with 22 yr old from Switzerland and 18yr old from Oz was a little too much. " I will stop travelling when I am 30 because otherwise I will be too old to start a family" I said you should travel with your family! blank stares....sigh
Missing the warmth of Canada...not only the summer heat but all of my family and friends. Excited about the adventures to come!
