Day 2

This morning I got up around 7:00am feeling all refreshed and ready to confront the new day ahead of me. After all, this wasn't an easy task being on holidays and having nothing else to do except lay in the sun all day long!  It couldn’t get any harder than this!   Hehehe!

By finding our way to the eating area, we had a delicious buffet style breakfast where lots of choices were available as well as fruits.  Talking about fruits, a staff was constantly preparing a variety of smoothies and drinks by mixing them in several blenders.  I knew right away that I was going to enjoy my stay here as I drank my healthy green colored juice while watching Michel make a funny face!   I couldn’t even convince him to at least, try and taste it a little…    Now, who was being the fussy one!   Hehehe

Since last night we didn’t have the chance to explore the exterior grounds being too dark outside well, guess what we did this morning.   We wandered around the gardens and paths of this cozy hotel where the huge swimming pools made it quite tempting to jump in and the dancing palm trees quite huggable as they looked so lovable.

As for the beach, it was inspected from top to bottom as we walked from one end to the other one within a matter of fifteen minutes.  It was a private beach and only the guests of the hotel had the luxury of enjoying it.  At each end of it, small rocky cliffs made it quite amusing to climb all over them!   Plus the views from the top, wow, they were so incredible.

In the far distance, I could see an island which I later learned was the "Isla de Mujeres".  I promised myself that while being here in Cancun, that I’ll definitely had to pay it a visit!

As we walked along the beach, the warm white powdery sand felt soooooo good stepping on as the waves of the turquoise colored waters reached occasionally my ankles tempting me to jump right in.   But off course I didn’t, I wasn’t’ dressed for the occasion.

By rapidly returning to the hotel, we quickly changed clothes and put on our bathing suits.  Lounging chairs along the sea were sat on and a good portion of the afternoon was enjoyed relaxing and swimming in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea as the waves tried to swallow us in!   Hehehe!

As for the evening, we got nicely dressed up, well me anyway, and chose to eat at the “Mexicano” restaurant, one of the so many international restaurants here at the hotel.   While being served our “a la carte” dinner, I drank all of the Pina Coladas that I could handle, like one and a half.   Yum, Yum!   And no, I didn’t get drunk!

Much later in the evening, a short walk was taken along the hotel’s shore where the warm breeze of the sea was so soothing on my skin and the sound of the crashing waves, music to my ears!   While back inside and sitting comfortably in the lounge, I had another small drink which resembled a rainbow and guess what!   I drank it while toasting to your health!  See, even though I was so far away from home, I still thought of all of you guys stuck in that powerful snowstorm and freezing like hell!    Cheers!

P.S.  I should mention that even though we've only been here for one day, Michel was red like a tomato this evening having burnt quite easily in the sun!   Ha ha ha!
