Day 20 - late afternoon

Day 13 - Northern Experience Tour
              38 Celsius, cloudy periods, hot

It was exactly 4:00pm when we exited the enclosed Halali Resort/campground for our game drive around the area.   The sky had clouded over hiding in the process the sun but in a way, it added relief from its piercing rays and pizzazz to the landscape.

We drove for a while seeing various birds' species and one thing about these southern African birds, they were amazingly beautiful!   I was quite lucky to be able to capture them on camera before they flew away!   You be the judge of their beauty!

Our drive brought us to "Etosha Pan", a large dry lakebed salt pan located right in the middle of this gigantic National Park.   The land was flat, completely flat for miles away giving me an odd feeling.   Feeling aside, it allowed me to play with my camera and produce a variety of photos.

We were allowed to get out of Mhondoro and explore our surroundings.  No African wildlife was around!   Had there been some, we certainly would have been able to see them coming from a great distance away.

Half an hour later and after having done all of our stretching here at the pan, we were back on board Mhondoro continuing our game drive.   This time around, giraffes were seen eating leaves from the trees.   It was amazing to see them just a few meters away from our vehicle!

Other than that, no other sightings were seen except the regular springboks and zebras which by now, I’ve definitely gotten used to see and stopped taking as much photos of them.   Quite a difference from the first time I’ve seen them!

It was dusk when we made it back to Halali Resort/campground.   We could see in the horizon the start of the sunset behind those thick greyish clouds.  Without any minutes to loose, I had an itinerary in mind and headed to the waterhole with Michel right at my side!

To be continued…
