Day 15 - noon

Day 8 -  Northern Experience Tour
40 Celsius, cloudless blue sky, very hot

The landscape became more mountainous where serpentine dirt roads led us around cliffs for miles at a time.

Seeing cars in this remote section of the country was a rarity but when one would come along and pass us, a trail of white smoke would be left behind for us to drive through on these unpaved roads!   Luckily for us the windows were closed since we had air conditioning on!

This rugged landscape eventually became more alien looking making me gasped at the beauty created by Mother Nature millions of years ago!   We were driving in a part of the country where mountains of rocks appeared to have burst out of the earth in a 45 degree angle creating these unique scenes.

I was happy when a short stop was eventually made along the road for us to capture these amazing vistas on camera without the constant vibration and movement of Mhondoro on these bumpy roads!    Plus, it was a nice break from being seated!

Once outside the overland truck, we did what we had to do!   I did my happy jump and took lots of pictures while Michel, well, he built his habitual inuksuk statue which looked more like a mountain of rocks than anything else!    Hehehe!

On the road again,……here I go again with that song…..the mountainous sceneries rapidly changed to seas of sand as we got closer to the Atlantic coast!   I had survived the driving through the ancient land of the Namib-Naufluft National Park and in a way, felt its ageless spirit.
