Day 15 - late morning

Day 8 - Northern Experience Tour
40 Celsius, cloudless blue sky, very hot

Somehow, the lyrics of the song "On the Road again…..Just can't wait to get on the road again" came popping into my head.   Hmmmm!   Must have been the heat!

Looking outside, mountain zebras were spotted as well as skinny looking wild horses.    The temperature had soared to around 40 degrees Celsius making me wonder how they could survive in this extreme heat.   At least, I had nothing to complain about being comfortably seated in Mhondoro with the air conditioning going full blast and cold bottles of water to drink.

Time went by fast and sixty minutes later, we were there!  We had arrived at one of the imaginary lines......are you ready for this.......we were at one of the five major circles of latitude that mark our global Earth maps!   Yeahhh!

Brakes were immediately pressed on and in a jiffy we all got out of Mhondoro!    The desert scenery was nothing short of spectacular where trees were almost non-existing and where sand and dry shrubs could be seen for miles away!

In the middle of all of this and right next to the dirt road, a big metal sign stood with the “Tropic of Capricorn” written on it!   It was a joyful moment where we all took turns taking photos plus one of the entire group altogether!    No need to tell you!    Of course, Michel had to be different from all of us and stood like a big green bird on top of the sign!

Ten minutes later, we were back inside Mhondoro as if this stop never happened and the lyrics of the song “On the Road again….just can’t wait to get on the road again” came popping once again into my head……
