Day 7 – afternoon

Now that we were leaving Cape Point – Cape Peninsula National Park, the greyish clouds were slowly and gradually disappearing making way for a lovely blue sky with beautiful white clouds.   Great!

Don't you just hate it when this happens and wonder why it couldn’t have been any sooner but looking at it on the brighter side, the day wasn’t over yet and more places were still to be visited!

We were now heading to Simon’s Town driving along the scenic False Bay coastline.    It was awesome sitting at the front of the minivan and being able to take all of those terrific shots.   Yeahhh!

Time went by fast and half an hour later, we had arrived!   We were now in Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and most interestingly, a village where a large penguin colony resided at the beautiful Boulders Beach!

So you guessed it!   We were here to see the African Penguins also widely known as the "Jackass" Penguins for their donkey like bray!   Interesting facts!

Once out of the minivan, we had access to walk along a pathway but for a minimal fee, could enter pass an enclosed gate and get an even closer look at those penguins!     No need to ask me what I’ve done…..yes Michel and I paid the fee and proceeded to walk down a wooden boardwalk that brought us directly along the beach’s shore.

A huge colony of African Penguins were sunbathing on the big boulders rocks or just walking around!   I was glad I’ve came but disappointed that we couldn’t get any closer and had to stay on this boardwalk!    I wanted to touch them!

After staying here for an hour and a half, it was time to leave and move on with the tour.   More was yet to be seen!

To be continued…..
