Day 5 – late morning/early afternoon

We were now on our way to Stellenbosch via the scenic Helshoogte Pass in the heart of the South African wine industry boasting great beauty.

Wow! Wow, wow were the words I kept muttering inside of me while constantly taking pictures along the way!  What I was seeing outside the window was so beautiful and picturesque.

Here in Stellenbosch we had a one hour leisure time to wander the avenues in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings with Dutch architecture.   Small coffee shops, galleries, antique shops and wine bars were all inviting as we passed right next to them without stopping.   Michel must have been quite proud of me……not buying anything!  Hehehe!

Many people were seen drinking or eating outside on patio terraces.   Whether they were tourists or people living here having a bite to eat because it was close to lunch time….I’ll never know but the place was crowded.

As Michel and I continued our little leisure stroll in this beautiful little town, I felt in heaven!   Who wouldn’t be!    We were surrounded by beautiful landscape and wonderful picturesque buildings!    I even told Michel that I could live here while dreaming as to how it would be like!    Sighhhhh!

An hour later, we were back on the minibus en route to Franschhoek for our next wine tasting tour….

To be continued!

Hola Mili,
No, I didn't buy anything here! Thought I'd save for that $60K US$ ring instead. Hahaha!
Gracias!
