Day 14 - late morning

As the old saying goes, "what goes up must come down", it was now time to head back down to sea level from where we were at the top of the island's hair raising cliffs!   Having come here by Funicular, this time around, a different approach was taken to go down the mountain’s side which proved to be quite a ride!

The type of transportation that we used was the island’s most popular one and you’ll never guess what it was!   We rode in an open-top taxi as they called it on the island.   This couldn’t get any better!

These open-top taxis could be spotted everywhere on this tiny Island of Capri and while all of them were white in color, they all sported leather seats of various colors ranging from lemon yellow to hot flashy pink!  You name it, they had it!

While hoping that mine would have an interior color of pink, it was an open-top taxi with a blue colored seat that I jumped right into.   Four of these type of taxis were used due to the size of the group.

While ours led the way, I had the advantage of glancing back and taking pictures of the rest of the parade while our driver kept going round and around on the zigzagging road up until we were finally down at sea level!

The ride must have taken a good ten minutes or so!  Throughout this, I continuously snapped pictures of the landscape while the hot refreshing breeze of the sea soothed my skin and my hair constantly flew all over my face!

Our fun here on the Island of Capri was nearing its end.   I reluctantly followed our guide to the embarkation point situated right at the end of the pier.  We were scheduled to board the ferry boat at 11:45am and people were starting to gather around.

Standing right next to the boarding bridge, a last look was given to the island and when time came around, the ferry boat was boarded.  I was the first one in and within minutes, stood on the top deck glancing at everyone else making their way up the ramp.  Even Michel was still there being a gentleman and letting everyone else pass in front of him!  Ha, ha, ha!

It was 12:30pm when we arrived back at Sorrento after a forty minute ferry boat ride!  The day was still young; much more was planned for the afternoon!
