Day 9 - early morning

I was up quite early this morning and by 6:15am was out on the grounds watching the sunrise over Lake Maggiore! I was the only person out there taking pictures with my bodyguard Michel right next to me.  The grounds were exceptional with all of the flowers and well manicured gardens surrounding the property.

We stayed for a while on the patio terrace watching the various stages of the sunrise over the lake as it got higher and higher in the sky after showing up from behind the mountains.  I have seen numerous sunrises throughout my travels but this one was kind of special in its own way because let's face it, we weren’t talking about any range of mountains here, these were the Alps!  And to think, we were within miles away from Switzerland!  So close but so far away!  And no, we didn’t have the opportunity to go there!

After being satisfied with all of my pictures taken, we went back inside the hotel and made our way down the famous hallway with all of its displayed jewelry….and of course, I took the time to look again…..before heading towards our designated banquet room for breakfast.

We were the only ones there at this hour!  It was only 7:00am.   We settled at a big round table right next to the window so that I could feel the warmth of the sun’s rays piercing through the glass while watching the sky’s colors.

Since we had time to spare before the departure of our optional tour excursion, I inquired about the jewelry to one of the hotel’s staff and in the end, purchased those I wanted.  Most of these pieces were made of the famous Italian murano glass.   It ended up costing most than I thought it would but since I was happy with my purchases, that’s all that counted!
