Day 3 - afternoon

After walking several minutes on one of Ancient Rome's main streets, a sign was seen on the corner of a building pointing in the direction of the one and only…..of the Trevi Fountain! Yeahhhh!  I could barely control my excitement just knowing that Michel and I were near it!

However, it was easier said than done!  You see, from this point on, we had to leave the main street and venture along quite narrow cobblestone streets where tall and ancient buildings over shadowed us!  In a way, it kind of felt like walking in a maze, a beautiful maze for that matter!  But hey, who’s complaining!  This was how Ancient Rome was built! You either loved it or hated it and guess what!  I just loved it!

By occasionally inquiring to a few passersby the specific location of the Trevi Fountain, by turning right, turning left, turning left again followed by turning right, by zigzagging our way along two to three streets and finally, by listening to the sound of the cascading water that kept increasing as we got nearer, well, after five minutes of all of this which kind of felt like an eternity, here I was finally standing right in front of my little baby, I was standing in front of the magnificent Trevi Fountain!   Hurrah!

So, how do you think I felt!  Absolutely excited and amazed by the sight of it!  However, I should mention that the place was crowded, extremely crowded by those DARN tourists!  Ha, ha, ha!  But what an incredible sight the Trevi Fountain was and quite huge for that matter.  Pictures did not do justice!

By making my way through the crowd I was able to sit right on the fountain’s edge while Michel took pictures of me standing in front of it!  Yep!  Mind that Photoshop did help to erase a few people captured in my pictures!  Ha, ha, ha!   So, right here, tons of photos were taken from many angles and heights!  And yes, I took pictures of Michel too, just a few!  Ha, ha!

The traditional legend goes that if you throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain, you are ensured a trip back to Rome!  Hmmmmm, interesting!   Truth or fiction!  Regardless, what do you suppose I did!   I hastily threw a coin into the Trevi Fountain while at the same time, I wished, I wished and I wished quite hard that one day, I’d be returning here!   Now, we’ll just have to wait and see if my wish will materialize because after all, it was a Canadian coin that I threw in!    Did that count!  Ha, ha, ha!

After spending at least a good hour here savoring every details of the fabulous Trevi Fountain, looking at my watch it was now 3:30pm!  It was time to move on!
