Once our car was parked, we rapidly jumped on a hay wagon that was being pulled by a tractor. We were now heading to the old Farm, a 15 minute ride from where we parked. Sitting comfortably on the bales of hay, a deep breath of fresh air….animal farm air as Michel called it…..was taken while I enjoyed the landscape where many white-tailed deer wandered freely.
The old Farm had many animals such as cows, goats and domestic pigs. Nearby, horses ate the grass while llamas acted indifferently in our presence. On site, a small farmhouse that was fully decorated with antique furniture sold snacks and ice cream cones. Needless to say, we treated ourselves to it.
Having decided to walk back to the car instead of taking the tractor ride, a path through the forest was taken. As I ate my ice cream cone, I savored every little detail of my surroundings. It was quite relaxing plus we had in a way the entire forest all to ourselves since most people had opted to take the tractor's ride back to their cars.
Along the forest’s path, we made our way to a beautiful wood gazebo where we were rewarded with a panoramic view of the landscape in front of us. Taking the time to rest for a while, birds could be seen way up the trees singing their lungs out. It felt wonderful!
