Day 5 - evening

Michel and I went all by ourselves on the "Lima at Night" bus tour. Having bought extra tickets a few hours earlier thinking that Justin, Patrick and Sabrina would have loooooved to join us, I was lucky enough to be reimbursed once I found out that they just couldn't make it!   So….

I was the very first one to board the touristic double decker red bus and settled on the top floor at our assigned seats.  Since we were a very small group….the bus was almost empty….I decided to change my seat a good half an hour into the tour because as the sun disappeared into view and darkness started to creep in, it was getting a little bit too cool and windy for me up there.   So, I moved to the very far back, the very last row having at least the bus’ back window as a wind barrier!

As excited as a kid, down the many streets we were driven to while I took tons of pictures of my surroundings!   Regardless as to all of this being a déjà vu from my last year’s trip here in Lima, it was still a pleasant way to pass the evening.

We eventually arrived at the magical fountain theme park, this being my main reason for taking the tour!   Hurrayyyyy!   As we followed our tour guide inside the park, time was allowed at various fountains for us to experience the thrills of walking underneath the jets of water flowing all around us and to feel its magic!   Yeahhhhhhh!    I was having all the fun that I came here for!  Michel as well!

Continuing on with our tour, we were then driven past the Parliament and Justice buildings plus various other colonial architectural structures before eventually making a stop at the Sheraton Hotel where we were served with a light lunch and drinks.

By 9:30pm, we were back to square one, back to where the tour had started at Parque Kennedy, a good 10 blocks away from our hotel.   Since I wanted to take pictures at night of the church where Justin and Fiorella were getting married tomorrow evening….that’s exactly where we headed to……to the Fatima church.

In total darkness with all of its lights illuminating its façade, the church looked absolutely beautiful!  I was glad that I came.  We also decided to walk way up to the Parque del Amor where again, pictures were taking.  I might have taken tons of pictures of that park at daylight, but unfortunately, I had none taken at night…until now that’s it!   Yeahhhh again!

Tomorrow, the big day!
