Day 6

Immediately after the church's wedding, Justin’s side of the family (us) went back to the Country Club for a photo shoot. At night, the place looked absolutely amazing and wonderful pictures were taken by the professional photographer and, of course, by me again!

After less than an hour, it was now time for all of us to head to the wedding reception being a good 20 minute drive from The Country Club and where all the guests were waiting…..probably wondering at the same time "where the hell" we were!    Ha, ha, ha!

I had the pleasure of sitting in the front seat of the car with the newlyweds in the back while Michel, Patrick and Sabrina, all went with Mili in another person’s car.   And yes….you do not need to ask me…..lots of pictures were taken again of the newlyweds but this time….guess what…..of them both drinking glasses of champagne in the back seat of the car!   How romantic can this be!  Lucky them!

My breath was completely taken away as I glanced at the reception luxurious gigantic tent down the illuminated stoned pathway leading to it!  Wow!  With all of its glittering lights, white silky sheer draperies and welcoming champagne bottles sitting in an ice sculptured glass with white powdery roses frozen in it, I was quite blown away!  I had never seen such a lovely exterior wedding reception place as lovely as this before!  It was only the beginning….

Stepping inside, beautiful tables with various hors d’oeuvres and floral arrangements welcomed us in.   I was immediately served with a glass of champagne by one of the servers as I wandered around admiring the décor.  The guests were already all settled in, some drinking at the open bar located in an upper level that had a series of steps leading to it, others sitting on comfortable white leather modern look sofas right next to it while others, chatting right around the lovely cascading waterfalls surrounded by exotic plants, flowers and palm trees.   In the middle of the huge room, a lovely big crystal clear chandelier hanged giving an illusion of diamonds shining all over us.  Quite a place this was….an amazing place!

Justin and Fiorella, the newlyweds, proceeded in opening the evening’s event by dancing in the middle of the huge floor to the music of the "Grande Valse"!    It was quite a magical moment as they both looked just like in a fairytale dancing to the rhythm of the music without hardly any faults…..having practiced the evening before probably…..

Settling in at our reserved tables, several courses of meals were served all under the watchful eyes of the “Wedding Planner Lady!  She had done an excellent job in ensuring that everything was in order and to its perfection!

The food was excellent and the drinks just kept pouring in all night long!   Everyone was happy and chatted the evening away.  It must have been way past midnight when the dancing started and everyone joined in the middle of the room to dance, dance and dance!

With Latino music playing endlessly by the disk jockey, we all had a great time doing the salsa, jumping around and laughing loudly!  And no, I wasn’t drunk!  Maybe Sabrina as she danced all by herself or Michel as he did some pushups in the middle of the room!  What a showoff...  Ha, ha, ha!

It was now “Happy Fiesta” time, a traditional Peruvian customary thing!  Since Justin and Fiorella had chosen the “Peruvian” theme, we were all given various hats and accessories to go by it.  Two persons were also dressed in the colorful Peruvian costumes with gigantic head masks making the theme even more fun!

Fiorella wore the Inca’s queen hat and Justin, the Inca’s king one!   I looked quite silly in mine….wished I had Fiorella’s hat!   :-(  Joking!

The so much talked about “Wedding Cake” stood by itself in the far corner of the room with a set of lights shining above it.  The cake lady had done a tremendous job in making it look just like in the picture.  It was absolutely beautiful.  Pictures were taken with the newlyweds cutting it!   Right next to the cake, a table full of desserts looked quite tempting.  I tried to stay away from this one!   Too much temptation….

Seconds turned into minutes, and minutes into hours!  It was now 3:30am and sadly the time of the wedding celebration was nearing its end.  The guests started to leave one by one after saying their goodbyes and thanking the newlyweds!

So, as the old saying goes…..all good things must come to an end….that’s exactly what happened here!  After having had a wonderful night celebrating Justin and Fiorella’s wedding, it was now time to pack our things and head back to the hotel.   At least, I now had extremely wonderful memories of the enchanting evening.

It was 4:30am when Michel and I made it back safely to the hotel having been driven there by one of the reception’s drivers.   Upon entering the room, we both collapsed on the bed not realizing how much tired we were.  After all, we’ve been up and running for the last 20 hours!
