Not having anything planned for the day, Michel and I spent it by walking around the area where our hotel was located and by doing absolutely nothing! We were here on holidays after all and to relax before tomorrow's big event!
As for Justin, he had plans of taking Patrick and Sabrina to the zoo, these two having never been there! Fiorella had last minutes details to take care of before the wedding. Plus, she couldn’t really see the groom the day before the wedding….right!
As for us lonely birds, we wandered endlessly along several streets, from east to west and from west to east and then from north to south followed by south to north all within walking distance to our hotel. Sounds boring, but it wasn’t! The weather was nice and warm and we had all the time in the world! Nothing else to do as Michel would say! We even treated ourselves to ice cream cones! Ha, ha, ha! Interestingly, along the way several structures were observed simply due to their funny looking shapes and oddities!
As we walked along the Costa Verde, the cliff’s scenic routes in other words, I had the luxury….yeahhhhh…..of speaking with a young "tourist security guard" in Espanol for a good half an hour discussing various subjects. He was riding standing up on one of those electronic devices (don’t know the name) and I guess I must have looked like a lost little tourist or he had nothing else to do! Ha, ha, ha…..because he stopped and started talking to us! Well, let me tell you that he understood my Espanol quite clearly which proves that it must have been ok! Right!!!! Or maybe, he was being too polite! I’ll never know but once again….Michel looked at me enviously!
Continuing on……us with our adventurous mentality of having to try and do everything…..well, a rocky cliff was descended which brought us directly to its edge giving us endless spectacular views of the ocean and horizon in front of us. Right next to this cliff, Michel couldn’t resist and had to climb another one all the way to its top but stopped halfway of it after ten minutes because I kept calling him back!
We eventually landed at Parque Kennedy, a good 10 blocks going inland from our hotel, where we decided to treat ourselves to a “Lima at Night” tour which included a stop at the popular water fountains which I definitely wanted to go to. Should be fun and interesting…..even though it was a déjà vu from last year’s trip! Talk about having imagination! Ha, ha, ha!Monique :-)
