============================

The "Marmara Antalya" was the name of our luxurious five stars hotel where we stayed for two nights in a row!   But the best part of it was finding out that it was located right along the Mediterranean Sea where “views to die for” could be seen.   However…..

Daghan had warned us…… and this quite in advance……that it was a different kind of hotel than those we were accustomed to!  That this place wasn't a traditional hotel but a really different one!  What he actually succeeded of doing was creating a mystery without providing to any of us any further explanations!  He did however mention that some of us might love the place whereas others might hate it!   We were held in suspense to find out all by ourselves!

The Marmara Antalya Hotel, recognized as being one of the most desirable location for international vacationers, recognized as well as being in the category of “unusual hotels in the world”, was a fairly large new building which stood like a huge rectangular grey box with its 15 floors and pink colored exterior walls as an entrance.  While appearing quite simple from the exterior, it had this modern style look which made you wonder as you looked at it!

The interior of the hotel was just like the exterior’s……simple and modern with many columns, ceilings and walls made out of concrete in many areas.  Keys to our room were given and anxiously, the elevator was taken to our specific floor.   However,  the main floor wasn’t the 1st floor….it was the 7th floor which didn’t make sense but then….it was probably meant to be different in so many ways.

Our room was on the 10th floor by their standards but by mine….don’t ask…I was already confused.   The room was an open concept, quite huge with concrete walls, tile flooring and furnished modernly.  We were on the west side of the hotel and could see the Sea from our window.

The bathroom was yellow with pink shower curtains.  It was big and comfortable.  Pink, being my  favorite color, I felt right at home in this hotel even though the colors were an eye sore in many areas.   Therefore, yes, I loved the place!  I adored it….and I agree, it was different but I was here to explore new avenues, to do things differently, and this hotel definitely met all of my expectations!

Since it was by now dusk, I hastily made my way outside the building but first of all, had to find the way leading to the back of the hotel.  Michel was as disoriented as I was and wasn’t much help!  Of all places to be, guess where the exit door to the hotel’s back terrace was…..it was on the 6th floor.  Now….how could I have known this????

This 6th floor was a very large area which served as the restaurant, eating area, lounge, internet area, bar, game room, etc….you name it, they had it.  They also had two large rope swings that hung in the middle of the room. Tall glass windows surrounded the two story high room allowing us to view endlessly the exterior manicured grounds.  So, after finally finding the electronic patio doors, Michel and I stepped outside…..

I was blown away by the beauty of the gardens, the huge pool and the path leading way up to the Mediterranean Sea….. and everything around me for that fact.  My kind of hotel……  It was so relaxing and calm.  I was just in time to see the sunset as it painted the horizon in so many colors….much to my enthusiasm.

After a nice refreshing shower and change of clothes, we met with the rest of the group and had dinner in the basement….in other words, the 6th floor.  It turned out to be quite good where we had lots of choices at the buffet style counters.

Stepping outside for a few minutes, the breeze was comfortable, the sky was completely dark and the moon was still full way, way up above me!   I felt just like in heaven!
