Day 6 (late afternoon)

Temperature:  12 degrees
Weather:    cloudy
===========================

Having previously discussed my plans with Daghan of my once in a lifetime interest of flying over Cappadocia's unique landscape on a hot air balloon, he didn’t have any objections to it but informed me that I had to make my very own inquiries and reservations because Insight’s policy forbade Tour Directors to provide any assistance whatsoever on this matter due to past accidents.

Therefore, just by telling me that the hotel we were staying at offered hot air balloon packages, needless to say, that’s all I needed to know….it was music to my ears in other words!  Daghan went on saying that if I wanted to go on an hot air balloon tour, it was preferably much better to do so on the second morning of our stay here since the group wasn’t leaving until much later on that particular day.   With a big wide smile on my face, knowing that the balloon tour was at dawn…..Michel and I had ample of time to go and come back way before they’d even notice our absences!    Woo hoo!

Once the motor coach came to a complete halt in front of the hotel, I knew right away where I was heading…straight to the concierge’s tour desk where details of the hot air balloon tour company and prices were given to Michel and I.  Satisfied with all the information received and no backing out, the total fee of $450.00 US$ was paid, worth every dollar in my opinion for this thrilling and unique experience. I was becoming more of a daredevil than Michel!

We were the only ones going on a hot air balloon tour.  During the day, I had discussed my plans with everyone else from the group but none showed any interest being either too scared or the tour too expensive.  "Come on" I told all of them, “You only live once!”

Having said this, I now hoped to survive the ordeal!   Was I having second thoughts about it?  Was I starting to regret booking the tour too fast?  Whereas Michel would say "Naaa,  nothing to it!  If it crashes, it crashes, that’s all!”   He definitely was quite reassuring!
