Day 4 (evening)

Temperature: 5 degrees
Weather:  cool night
=====================

The Kervansaray Termal was the name of the five stars hotel we stayed at on the very first night of our tour.  It was quite a lovely hotel in which a white marble circular staircase looked quite impressive next to the elevators.

The room was average size and had a chic modern look décor with twin beds.  We were on the 5th floor and had a good view of the city of Bursa from our small balcony.   Also, the hotel had thermal baths but since Michel and I already had the whole "Turkish bath experience" thing in Istanbul, we didn’t bother.

After a nice refreshing bath and a change of clothes, we met with the rest of the group at the Topaz Restaurant at 7:00pm.  Dinner was included as part of the tour and was a selection of hot and cold buffet style food with lots of desserts to choose from.  We chatted with several other couples from the group while eating and toasting to our tour.

Since I wanted to "check out" the entire hotel and this being something I usually do being nosy as I am......after dinner, we walked around the huge complex.   Exploring one's hotel wouldn't be complete without checking the souvenirs shop.....right!

The interior's swimming pool was located on the lower level.  Just the smell of the chlorine brought us directly to it.....and of course, the directions pointing to the exact location.  Looking at the water, it was quite inviting....especially since the pool was heated...my kind of pool.    From the interior, one could swim underwater and go outside in which steam came out of the warm pool.  As inviting as it was and even though Michel wanted to jump in....well.....since I had just washed my hair, I just didn't feel like it plus, it was freezing outside.

And so ended my first day of this tour, a day which I had great fun, saw lots of wonderful things and where new friends were made.

Statistics for the day:

ˇ         Eskihisar – Topcular ferry crossing:  30 minutes
