Weather: nice warm sunny day
==========================
This morning, it felt as if I was going down memory lane as Michel and I both walked along familiar grounds bordering the Pacific Ocean. It was kind of sad in a way because I knew that it was the last time that I was admiring these landscapes in which I had gotten accustomed to see every morning on my daily walk. We were leaving tonight for Canada which meant……that our trip here to Peru was nearing its end.
We met with Justin around 11:00am and went shopping at the Inka Market. After browsing through several stalls without finding anything of interest and since Justin was hungry, we went and had a bite to eat at Pizza Hut located right next to the Larcomar Mall.
La Bonbonniere was the name of the restaurant in which we met Fiorella and her mother for a late lunch around 2:30pm. We settled for a table on the open terrace which provided us with excellent views of our surroundings. The weather was quite nice with a lovely blue sky.
Since Justin had some last minute packing to do as well as Fiorella, after leaving the restaurant we all went to her parent's home. Michel and I sat in the cozy family room watching television. Once in a while, I tried to hablar Espanol con Fiorella’s madre!
Going back to our hotel, our suitcases were picked up from storage and with Fiorella and Justin following us in another taxi we headed to the airport with all long faces. As the driver drove his cab along the ocean, on my left a beautiful sunset was putting the horizon on fire while on the opposite direction two rainbows were formed in the sky which I thought was quite unusual. It must have meant something…….such as tonight being my lucky night! Who knows…but it was quite a wonderful surprise since I had never seen any rainbows in Lima before…… two together even more stunning!
At the airport, goodbyes were said, hugs were given and with all sad faces, we passed the gate looking for one last time a dear familiar face waving back at us.
