Brazil Tour:  Day 7 - Amazon Rainforest

Upon arrival from our alligator hunting adventure, by now Michel and I were very much hungry.  It was very late in the evening as we made our way towards the open-air Indian style architecture restaurant located right in the middle of this huge complex.   The place which could accommodate up to 120 people was already quite crowded with people however we were able to find a table to collapse and to eat.

The buffet style dinner had various selections of hot dishes such as beef, chicken and fish.  They also served piranha soup which I definitely passed.   Being a vegetarian, I directly went in the direction of the warm vegetables servings, variety of cold salads and fruits.  As for Michel, he pretty much selected several Amazonian dishes much to my dislike.   The desserts, well, that was another story….they were all quite exquisite and delicious.  Yum, yum!

We eventually retreated to our room but not before walking around the complex at night with a full moon in the sky illuminating our way.  I wanted to breathe the rainforest in total darkness, to hear all of its noises, to see any unusual bugs and to feel its presence.  Sounds crazy right….especially me being afraid of bugs but I was here for that!

Looking up in the sky, a red and blue parrot stood silently in a tree…..probably saying those crazy tourists!
