Brazil Tour:   Day 6 Iguacu Falls – Brazilian falls tour

It was yesterday's same tour guide who picked us up at our hotel’s entrance and this, much later than I thought he would…..like an hour and a half later!  Groan!   Who knows!  Blame it on the time difference between the two neighboring countries or a miscommunication in time!   However, the tour group that Michel and I were joining for the day was coming all the way from Argentina!  Plus guess what!!  It also turned out to be the same group of people we were with yesterday, all Spanish speaking!  Hola!

As I was saying, eventually the guide showed up and this at 10:30am.  Considering the fact that I had been waiting since 9:00am, I was by then very upset to say the least, of having wasted so much time doing nothing!

We followed the guide and the group down the, by now, well known walkway located right in front of our hotel.  Had we known that this would have been the day’s activity and as I said before, departing right in front of our hotel, we definitely would not have taken it as part of our Brazil’s tour package because after all, we were already staying in the Iguacu National Park as guests of the Das Cataratas Hotel and the falls were situated right within walking distance to us!  We certainly didn’t need a tour guide to show us the walkways that we had already seen and been to several times by ourselves!

After about an hour of following him in this hot and humid weather, of trying to take pictures in areas extremely crowded with tourists, we decided to leave the group and to come back later by ourselves, much later, meaning after 5:00pm, after closing hours.  This way, we would once again be the only ones around, plus any other guests staying at the hotel, and have the entire walkways all to ourselves which meant no huffing, no puffing and no pushing around in order to be able to take pictures of the falls seen from the Brazilian side!  .

It was by then close to lunch time when we started walking back to our hotel, a very short distance away and decided to do something different for the afternoon, something like….spoiling ourselves!  Good decision!
