Day: 3 (morning / mid afternoon)

Temperature:  low 21, high 29
Weather:  Quite hazy and foggy in morning
                 Sunny periods in afternoon
---------------------------------------------------------------------

We were awakened at 6:00am this morning by the telephone ringing endlessly.  It was Justin inquiring what time it was!  Groan!   He must have had the jitters if he called us this early in the morning while saying that he had several things to do in preparation for his wedding and that he would be meeting us at our hotel around 4:30pm.  From there, we would all be leaving together for an appointment with the professional photographer at the reception hotel.   I thought to myself that since he didn't have a watch, he would probably call again to inquire que hora es!  Anyway, that was perfectly fine with me.  It gave me the entire morning and part of the afternoon just to relax and explore Miraflores and its surroundings.

After a nice refreshing shower, Michel and I headed downstairs for breakfast and I definitely felt being on holidays but most importantly, as a tourist!  No rush, no push, no nothing!   A few people were already seated in the dinning area as we surveyed the room and settled for a nice cozy table right next to the door.  The breakfast was buffet style in which we both had scramble eggs with pancakes.

Around 8:30am, we headed out the door and walked two short blocks before arriving directly on the cliff above the ocean.  It was time to explore, it was time to have fun and it was time to take tons of pictures.

From the top of the gigantic cliff, unfortunately the view was quite minimal plus the ocean could not even be seen through the heavy smog.  We proceeded walking in the direction of the Parque del Amor and then descended down several steps, 150 in all as Michel counted them! This brought us directly along the ocean edge.

The nice Rosa Nautica restaurant that so many pictures were taken from the top of the cliff, well, here I as right in front of it.  This was also the restaurant that Justin proposed to Fiorella on New Year’s Eve while fireworks were illuminating the entire ocean in the background.  I wanted to visit the interior of the restaurant but first of all, it was closed being so early in the morning and secondly, we could not even walk on the wooden pathway that led to it.  A security guard was present and guarded its entrance.  By telling the guard that I wanted to check their menu, it brought me closer to the terrace and from there, I was able to take a few pictures.

After having walked a short distance along the beach, we finally retraced our steps, walked back up the 150 steps of agony and headed back to the Larcomar Mall to do some window shopping of the three story floors.  There, we had a light lunch and then headed back to the hotel to simply relax around the pool while eating our ice cream cones.  It was 3:00pm when we headed back up to our room having lots of time to prepare ourselves for tonight’s special event.

So, did I look as if I was nervous or panicking for being the  bridegroom’s mother!  Absolutely not!  Everything was under control.  Everything was taken care of!  Everything was simply fine!  Being so confident in myself, I even refused Fiorella’s assistance when she asked me if I wanted to go with her mother, sister and herself at the hair salon in the afternoon.

Big mistake!!!
