Dear Blog,
As the Caribbean Princess made its grand entrance into San Juan, Puerto Rico at 6:00am this morning, we were wide awake! Today......we are going ' HOME ' !
By 6:30am, we were having our last breakfast at Caribe cafe. We gracefully thanked our devoted waiters for their excellent services throughout our cruise. Once everything was done and finished, we just sat on our balcony's chairs in our stageroom overlooking the day that was opening up in front of us. Birds could be heard signing in the distance as if saying adios amigos while people could be seen already leaving the ship. We still had one hour to ourselves since we were instructed to be at 9:30am in the lounge. We were colour purple for disembarkation.
By 9:15am we were in the lounge and were fortunate to see again some of our friends we made during this cruise. Conversations took place and once our colour was called, we all made our way outside a door, off the ship and then in the Convention Center which was walking distance to the ship. All of our luggages, having been picked up last night by the staff, were waiting for us in the purple rows at the center. After having retrieved them, we made our way to a bus that brought us to the airport. Everything went smoothly. Nothing was lost and it was quite well organized.
Once at the airport, we had a couple of hours to spare during which I just browsed through the boutiques, anxiousness starting to arise.
The flight home went quite well. It was again with Continental Airlines via Newark/New York airport.
We finally arrived at the Ottawa International Airport late in the afternoon under a grey sky, cold temperature, snow banks and no sun welcoming us home but at least we were HAPPY TO BE BACK HOME! We had our memories.
Thankful for happiness.
