Where I stayed
It was way past lunch time when we all headed for a late afternoon lunch with most of us being hungry! After hastily disembarking from the bus on the side of a very busy street, we followed Akram down several side alleys that brought us to the doorsteps of a well hidden restaurant, the Salle Oriental. One had to live here to know the place.
The interior of the restaurant highlighted quite well the Egyptian culture with all of its decorations. We all sat at several tables and as per our guide's recommendations, ordered the main dish. As for myself since Akram knew my tastes quite well by now, a special vegetarian dish was ordered.
Well, the Egyptian cuisine was exquisite. Michel and I chatted with several newly acquaintances from the group sitting with us at our table. We all had a wonderful time and headed out the door afterwards being completely full.
We made it back to the Marriott’s hotel in late afternoon, only a few hours in between our evening’s departure for our Pyramid lightshow.
