It felt good to be on the road again although we have fallen in love with the Hill Country in central Texas.  Hopefully we will be back to enjoy more.  As the day progressed we traveled through significant inclines and downgrades onto the west Taxas plains - with landscape much closer to what we enjoy in Arizona.  The temperature today approached 90 degrees and there is a strong cross breeze.  this has been record breaking high tempertatures for this time of year even in this dry land area. We are staying at an Escapee Park tonight and were told that most Escapee Parks have more upscale facilities than what is available here.  We are near the local airport on a gravel pad with good 50 amp. service, water and sewer hookup but close to neighbours.  People seem to use this location mainly as an overnight stopping point in transit but we are going to take a day off the road and explore the local town of Pecos.  It looks like cowboy country. We find that this change of pace works bests when we have had a long road day.
