July has been a month of extreme weather for some people in western Canada.  Severe thunderstorms, often giving rise to tornadoes, have passed through Central (Red Deer area and northeast) and Southeastern (Medicine Hat) Alberta and into Saskatchewan.  The storms track along the Rockies and seem to veer east traveling diagonally towards the prairie at that point.  To see some wonderful photography of some of these storms check out Greg Johnson's blog

South of Calgary, in the area we have spent most of the summer, we have had a few thunderstorms with rain, but virtually no hail, wind etc.   We have been treated to wonderful skies and cloud formations though!  I decided to share some that I took during the period when tornadoes were developing in other areas on almost a daily basis.

Enjoy!
