Since my last post, Don has had a third stent added to his collection and is feeling much better.  He is still waiting for a date for the TURP procedure to rectify his urology problem.  The catheter and bag are an annoyance and limit his ability to be physically active.  In the meantime we have determined that he will have difficulty getting full coverage travel insurance for next winter so have decided it is time to establish a home base in Calgary.  Don is still hopeful that he will be cleared to participate in at least the Alberta harvest again this fall.  A friend from near Almonte has joined the harvest crew this year and is currently working the long hours in Alva Oklahoma.

After looking at several units and an extensive Internet search we have located a lovely rental unit about 15 minutes from our son's home.  I guess this is the year Granny gets to be 'Granny' all winter!  So now we are working out the details to get our household goods shipped from storage.

Through all this excitement, I have been able to complete two pieces of fiber art which can be seen on facebook or on my blog at diane-duncan.com .  One piece, a 12x12, will be part of a SAQA traveling exhibition that will open at the quilt show in Red Deer in early June.  The second piece, much larger, will be part of the exhibition 'Waterworks' that can be viewed at the Fiber Art Network site when posted.  It will open in North Battleford Saskatchewan on the 1st of August and will travel for two years afterwards.  I also have received news that the Canadian Content exhibition, which can be viewed on the same site, will be on exhibition at the Houston Show in late October! Wowee!  This is the pinnacle of success for this show!

I was also pleased to meet some other fiber artists in Calgary when I attended the SAQA regional meeting in Red Deer earlier in the month.  I also really enjoyed a visit to the Dado Gallery where two of the FAN members are exhibiting.  Fabricated is a great show.

So life goes on!  Just in a different direction than expected!  At this point it appears to be a 90 degree, not a 180 degree turn and we will continue to spend time traveling in the RV, just to different localities at different times of the year....or not.  The changes will make it possible for me to realign the supplies I carry with me and maybe, just maybe, I can get into a more productive art mode!  It's all a wait and see and adjust process for us at the moment.
