When in Rome do as the Romans do - if you can afford it!  The going price for tickets to the superbowl game are reported to be in the range fo $3,500 and up!  We settled for a preview of the site on Friday, along with an estimated 100,000 other people!  Once there, we explored the party area and did not choose the hour wait in line for the pre-game party and entertainment at the stadium.  Would love to see inside the stadium but perhaps it will be a lot easier after the Super Bowl game is just a memory.

The site is a huge sports and entertainment complex located in Glendale which is to the west side of Phoenix.  Scott David and I went to a Phoenix Coyotes hockey game at the Job.com arena that is located next to the University of Phoenix stadium three years ago.  The stadium was still under construction at the time.  Now there is a large conference centre, at least two hotels, a AMC theater complex and retail, offices and condo units.

It was a lot more practical to watch the game on TV and Scott was good enough to spring for digital cable so that his parents could watch it at his apartment.   It was estimated that approximately one million people came to the Phoenix area for the Super Bowl weekend and there were events and parties all over the city.  There was a tailgate pre-game party with Pamela Anderson that I thought might be fun but I couldn't get anybody else interested.
