Today we made our first trip to North Mountain, a little further afield and a different climb. Our first attempt to find the parking for the mountain was a miss so we ended up driving around the base and entering what we thought was the main access point. Little did we know.... This mountain has a paved trail but from this parking lot the access is steep and rugged. Needless to say we didn't make it to the top but did go far enough to determine that a little farther on there is a parking lot that directly accesses the trail. Looks like this mountain will require several visits before we explore it fully (to the top!). We did get a great view of the back of Lookout Mountain and Scott's condo in the distance.
