Our paperwork has finally been submitted so that we can be recognized as teachers in New Zealand. Sounds like the ultimate boring experience but we were hardly "bored" and sitting around unoccupied...you wouldn't believe how many hours it took us! Undesirable, yes; boring, no.

5 days until we depart. Until then, we'll be completing countless applications, analyzing the fine print of travel insurance and visa requirements, organizing funds, finalizing our paperwork, purchasing necessities, finding adequate activities to keep us occupied on the long journey, sorting sorting sorting, saying farewells, oh and PACKING...which has become my nightmare! All of this is in preparation for one long journey to the other side of the world.

Here's what's ahead of us on November 1:
1.5 hour drive to Albany train station
2.5 hour train ride to New York City
45 minute cab ride from Penn station-JFK airport
6.5 hour flight NY-LA
2 hour layover
13 hour flight LA-AUCKLAND
4 hour layover
1.5 hour flight AUCKLAND-CHRISTCHURCH

Think of us while you're cozying up on a couch, calling/texting someone just because, laying down, getting a good night's sleep, drinking lots of (legal) bottled water, or whenever you have a little personal space to spare because I'm sure we won't be having much, if any, personal space.
