I've arrived to Hue early this morning, fresh from the hard sleeper train. Don't think this is a train where you have to sleep on the wooden benches. No, hard sleeper means that you share the compartment with 5 other people and there's less foam that you sleep on than in the soft sleeper (where there are only four people in the compartment).
Since I missed the 6 o'clock bus to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) I decided to have a look around the town on a bicycle, of course (I'm a bit lazy this year, but I just can't resist a bicycle for 0.6$ per day...).
As soon as I started paddling, the rain started. I thought it would be over in few hours, so I didn't bother, but when I was soaked to the bones, and it was way past eleven and the rain was getting stronger and stronger I got nervous. I decided to do the major sightseeing thing of Hue anyway. So started my tour of the ancient Citadel in Hue, built by the last emperors of Vietnam, the Nguey dynasty. the rains stopped soon after I entered the citadel, so the tour was getting nicer and nicer. Luckily my trousers (thoughtfully bought last year in Bangkok...) dry quickly, which cannot be said for my T-shirt, but at least my bum was dry....
