The Steripen has arrived at last after much hassling of DHL. It appears they neglected to request a copy of our passport despite us visiting them and asking what the hold up was! We therefore went in person to the office for three further days in a row until they grew tired of us and finally on our last day in Ecuador, they gave us the delivery!

We ended up being in Cuenca longer than anticipated and so have unfortunately been unable to visit Vilcabamba and Park National Podocarpus. Another time perhaps! We spent 5 hours on a bus trip to Loja today during which they played classic Bruce Lee films overdubbed in Spanish. Bruce would pop in to the scene and say 'Buenos Dias' before despatching his enemies! The bus wound its way through the high Andes in typical Ecuadorian style, with passengers jumping on and off while the bus was still moving.

Loja seems nice. We enjoyed our last Ecuadorian meal (a Mexican!) and got some supplies for tomorrow's 9 hour bus journey to Piura in Peru. We will stay in Piura one night before continuing on to our destination of Mancora on the northern coast of Peru.
