Mo's Entry

We're back to diving and life is good!  We did a wee stop over in Bali, just enough time to get new glasses (lost mine) and to go out to the hard Rock Cafe one night before booking a bus/boat combo trip to Lombok.  Luckily we did because we met an awesome couple presently living in Holland.  They dive, they do rough travel and best of all they are our age!  We ended up spending quite a bit of time with them.  It was great just meeting them on the bus and boat.

There are three little Gili islands off the left coast of Lombok.  White sand beaches, turquiose clear warm water, no cars (horses and carts only) , no dogs (only cats), Mo heaven.

Mike and I decided to hook up to a diving company right away so could get in five dives immediately and get back on our diving flippers.  We went with Manta Diving and met another friend ,Toni from Finland, we hung out with him after diving and found out he directed films and television. Diving was good but Mike and I are a bit spoiled because of the awesome places we dived last trip.  We did see lots of sea turtles and fabulous fish and by the end of it were once again doing very well on our air (a sign that you are comfortable in the water).

Gili Trawagan had a rather 'young' feel and though the water was clear turquoise blue I think there would be other spots more interesting to hang out in.  Once again it was so hot we could barely sleep.  The fan was a teeny weeny oscillating fan set high on the A frame bungalow's roof...not many good nights of sleep.  Thank goodness we were only a few minutes away from the dive company.,  We slipped out of bed in the morning, donned bathing suits and were at manta Diving a few minutes later.  Then we slipped  into our wet suits and a quick boat trip later we were under water....pretty good!
