Today was the first day for some real sightseeing. We made our way to a busy little town called Chester. Being a Saturday.. the crowds were out en masse.. mostly shopping. We walked around the streets looking at the "rows".. which is what they call the shops on two levels.. and by that i mean there are shops at street level and there are shops above those shops. See the photos to get a better understanding.
Chester is one of the only places in the UK with ruins dating back to the Roman occupation. The city has some of the original city walls still in tact.. and we walked along some of it. It was a less crowded way of getting around!
After a few hours in Chester we were taken to a little town in Wales called Conwy. There is an old castle there.. probably the main tourist attraction for the area.. with shops selling swords and people dressed up in medieval costumes. We went to a fair dunkum fish n chips shop (I had a chicken burger.. i don't eat fish) and then to an old Welsh pub for a lager.
From there we went for a drive through the country side and unfortunately.. that was about the time my camera ran out of juice. I failed to recharge the battery last night.. a mistake that wont happen again! We drove for quite some time.. but the main sight to see was Wales' highest mountain.. Snowdon.
We came back in the early evening.. just in time to get ready for dinner at a Thai restaurant. The food was again amazing!
Anyways.. I still feel like my body clock hasn't adjusted to the new time zone. Perhaps it never will!?!
So.. it's time for me to get some sleep. Tomorrow I'm going to a soccer *cough* i mean.. football match - man city v sunderland!!
Goodnight all..
