Today dawns cold and cloudy. We pop over the road to Albertson's for a wonderful breakfast and return to find the keys locked inside the car. It's not for me to tell how or why, just that it's damn hard to find a locksmith in Jackson . After a superhuman effort by the proprietor, a tow truck eventually arrives and the door is opened in seconds and US$ 80.00 exchanges hands magically. We have lost one and a half hours.
We finally drive off to Grand Teton National Park, where our first destination is the visitor centre. All the visitor centres we have found are excellent, and it should be a mandatory stop before entering any national park.

Although the weather has improved, the clouds are still covering the tops of the magnificent peaks of the Grand Teton mountain range.

We visit the renowned Episcopalian Chapel of the Transfiguration. This simple log church is built facing the majestic Cathedral Peaks of the Tetons, and the view through the window behind the altar is world famous.

We continue our circuit to the lovely Jenny Lake overlook. This is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the United States , and although the clouds still cover the peaks, it is still a magnificent view. Nearby some boaters are launching a kayak, much too cold for the likes of us Floridians.

We return to Jackson by way of the pretty Moose Wilson Road . This narrow gravel road winds its way through forests along the edge of the mountains. Large vehicles are not permitted, and when we exit the park at the southern end, we see a tour bus being turned back at the entry gate.
