Where I stayed
Flight from Melbourne to Sydney
The flight from Melbourne to Sydney was going smoothly and we were almost there when the it was delayed because of a sudden storm at the Sydney airport. Well we were flying Jetstar, the cheap one, and the next announcement said we were going to have to land at Canberra to take on more fuel as we didn't have enough to cope with the delay. Well in Canberra it was dark and it took awhile to add fuel. I am sure they had to call the fuel operator at home to get him back to work. Eventually we were fueled up and we took off for Sydney arriving two hours late. Our friends, John and Christine, were wondering where we were as the web site said our flight had landed in Canberra. They were sure Jim had made a mistake in booking the flight. When we arrived at the Sydney Airport we were past their closing time and the airport looked deserted except for us being there. The staff were anxious to have us out. The next surprise came when we were in the taxi and we were asked by the driver how to get to the address we had given him. Well Rosie the GPS to the rescue again. We used Rosie to help the taxi driver arrive safely at John and Christine's house. They were glad to see us. The next morning Ted Cain arrived after 10:00 to pick us up for our stay with them. We will continue this story when we can put in pictures. J and ML
The story continued. We were with the Cains from March 24 until April 1. We had a great time visiting with them and doing day trips in the area of the Central Coast. This area is located about 1.5 hours north of Sydney. We also enjoyed relaxing at their beautiful home and both of us spent as much time as possible in the pool. We caught the train back to Sydney on April 1. Sue was there to meet us at the train station.
