We got into Amravati (Amol's home town) around 8:30 in the morning and his brother and sister-in-law met us at the train station. We went to the hotel, cleaned up, ate breakfast and then his brother came back to pick us, Nameeta's parents and Amol and Nameeta up and take us to Amol's mother's house.

Once at the house we met a lot of Amol's family and Nameeta talked with us for awhile because not everyone spoke English. Before lunch we went with Amol and some of his family to the temple because Amol and Nameeta had to do some more praying.

Lunch was served by Amol's family in honor of Nameeta's mother and it was amazing. Again we ate way too much food but it was really good and they never seemed to stop putting it on our plates.

After lunch we went back to the hotel to rest and get ready for the reception. We were just going to wear our punjabi suits but Amol said that we needed to dress up more so we wore our saris again.

The reception itself was an amazing event. It was held outside in this really large courtyard and Nameeta's father explained to us that it was held outside because halls in India only (yes he said only) hold up to 500 people. Set up in the front of the courtyard was a big stage that Amol and Nameeta sat on to greet the guests and they came up to say hi and give gifts. In front of the state was a set of chairs for the guests and the back of the courtyard was dedicated to the food. There were two waterfalls and during the 3 hours we were there fireworks were periodically set off. It was like nothing I had ever seen before.

His family was really nice to us and treated us like honored guests. Everyone wanted to talk to us but a lot of people didn't speak English so they mostly just stared. We did get to talk to a couple of his cousins and one woman helped us to talk to other people by translating. In the end it was a great experience.
