A new guide today for our morning safari and an early rare sighting of a leopard on a cliff edge gave us encouraging signs. After speeding 30 minutes across some pretty treacherous terrain, we arrived at the place of a recent sighting and managed to see a female tiger about 50 metres away in dense undergrowth. Luck was on our side today because she ambled out of the jungle and plonked herself on the track about 10 metres away. It was totally amazing to see such a gorgeous creature in its natural habitat. As if we had not been spoilt enough, our guide told us she was calling for her cubs then a few minutes later 3 very timid babies appeared. Thrilling and lucky are probably the best two words to sum up our day, no wonder Rudyard Kipling had his inspiration to write Jungle Book after his visits to this wonderful jungle park.
