Soooo day 4 of our trip and it's been wild! We left Edinburgh and drove straight north. On our way we stopped a few times but most importantly stopped to see Loch Ness...we watched for a bit, but alas, no Nessie. That night we stayed at our hostel "Carbisdale Castle"...again, famed for being haunted. lovely. so i was pretty much shakin in my boots before we even got there. It was the coolest place, but creepssss. literally a huge castle in the middle of forest. we went to the one pub that night,. with a spntaneous bag pipe session! the 15 mintues walk home through the forest was less than enjoyable. needless to say, i did not get a great sleep that night. day two we headed north and ferried over to the Orkneys. The islands were beautiful. We saw a few ruins more than 5000 years old and some cliffs that were nothing less than incredible (with some puffins hanging off of them!) Thankfully the weather has been on our side. Today we left the islands and are in Ullapool, a cute little ferry town with the best fish and chips! We've been having a blast. there's 29 of us on the tour and it's been incredible. aussies. kiwis, canadians, and a couple americans...golden! So the first half of the trip has been jam packed, feels like we've been travelling for weeks! There's been a general disappointment at the lack of kilts, but we;ve got 4 more days to go, so there's still hope! Tomorrow we had to the isle of Skye...
