Yesterday we took a kayaking trip down the Waikato river which leads to the Huka Falls.  This waterfall throws 200 litres of water per second over the edge!!  Obviously we didnt kayak down the waterfall (!) but we went underneath the Taupo bungy which is the highest water touch bungy in the world...and we could definitely see why!  The river was stunning...absolutely crystal clear so that it was possisble to see the fish swimming on the bottom!!  We continued down stream to where there is a natural hot spring at the side of the river which bubbles up and joins the river.  At this point we moored our kayaks on the bank and got in the water at the side of the river amongst the rocks.  Very odd to be in hot spring water and cold river water all at the same time.  Actually it was odd sitting at the side of the river in swim gear full stop!!  We then got picked up by the kayak company a bit further downstream and taken back to our accommodation.  How lovely!!!

Today however, we took a look at the bungy from above and Mark took a very close look and took the plunge (pardon the pun) over the edge.  I looked from a safe distance behind the barrier (lol)!!  Apparently it was exhilerating....although a JD and coke was needed to recover from the shock.  Happy days :)
